In the area of DUI defense, Mr. Weyher has received the same intensive training provided to law enforcement in conducting DUI stops and administering the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’s). Mr. Weyher recently travelled to Los Angeles to participate in the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA) training program. The program trains law enforcement on the proper procedure for conducting traffic stops of possible DUI suspects, observe and interview DUI suspects, administer the SFST’s, and determine whether probable cause exists to arrest a suspect for Driving Under the Influence (DUI or DWI). This experience is invaluable in the field of DUI defense in that Mr. Weyher knows first-hand the strict standards that law enforcement must adhere to when conducting DUI investigations. The slightest deviation in these standards opens the door to numerous defenses and cross examination opportunities.
Mr. Weyher continues to seek and attend specialized training in the areas of DUI defense and other criminal defense, and is ever-working to gain a courtroom advantage for his clients.
